The hamlet of Prestinone di Craveggia (a two-minute drive from the centre of Santa Maria Maggiore, the main town in the Vigezzo Valley), is the departure point of a modern 8-seater gondola lift that allows you to reach the Piana di Vigezzo ski resort, located at an altitude of 1726 metres, in just ten minutes.
You can admire truly breath-taking views at this altitude: the panorama encompasses the peaks of Val Grande and the unmistakable profile of Monte Rosa.
On the Piana di Vigezzo, there are over 20 km of downhill pistes suitable for everyone: there are eight low-to-medium slopes and two black runs for expert skiers. The “Trubbio” and “Fraschella” pistes are nationally renowned, hosting giant and special slalom competitions.
On the Piana di Vigezzo, you can even spend a pleasant day without skis on your feet: undemanding snowshoeing routes offer splendid views over the valley below, pistes where children can bobsleigh and luge, and guaranteed sun thanks to the special exposure of the snow-covered slopes.
