The Museo Casa dell’Alpino (Alpini corps House Museum) in Domodossola, named after Don Carlo Righini, aims to document the life and deeds of the Alpine troops through a systematic collection of uniforms, badges, memorabilia, equipment, photographs and documents. The museum consists of two rooms that contain a collection of objects and artefacts that bear witness to the deeds of the Alpini corps from its establishment in 1872 to the present day, through all the war events of the late 19th and 20th centuries, up to the peacekeeping missions of the new millennium.
Visits to the chronological, linear museum are always guided: alongside the collection, special attention is paid to the succession of events that have marked the history of the Ossola Alps. A section of the exhibition is dedicated to Don Carlo Righini, featuring exhibits that reconstruct his military life as an Alpine chaplain as well as his life as a priest and churchman.
Since 2015, the museum has hosted an exhibition commemorating the centenary of the First World War, with historical references, documents and memorabilia relating to the Alpini.
