The Antigorio Valley is rich in long climbing routes, all on the beautiful Serizzo stone characteristic of this part of Ossola Valley.
Starting this short journey of discovery from Pontemaglio, you can’t miss Pacha Mama, or Curricachiovi, a great start to climbing on the hard Gneiss rock in the area and a good place to climb in the shade on hot mornings.
Above Goglio, in Baceno, which can be found along the road to Alpe Devero, there are two great mid-season routes, while along the road from Baceno to Formazza lots of routes have recently been opened, some very convenient to reach, but all quite challenging.
Some of these routes are described in detail on the Ossolaclimbingnews Facebook page.
The length of these routes varies from four to twelve lengths with difficulty up to 8a. The rock is always excellent and you need some experience to protect yourself using nuts and friends.
