In the ancient nucleus of one of the most beautiful villages in the Antigorio Valley, Viceno, sits the small and delightful Casa della Montagna Museum, a rural building transformed into an exhibition space by the local authorities.
The museum faithfully reproduces a typical 20th-century house, divided into three rooms: the kitchen that with its essential furnishings, fireplace and wooden crockery allow you to get to know the traditions of the past; the bedroom, furnished with a traditional tela da ca’ tapestry; and the cellar, which houses traditional objects. Also on display are traditional costumes and tools used to cultivate the land, make milk, hunt and process textile fibres.
The Casa della Montagna Museum in Viceno is open in July, August and September; in other periods on request.
