In Antigorio Valley, nature offers undreamed of snowshoeing trails! A land of natural surprises such as the spectacular Orridi di Uriezzo, deep, winding caves carved into the rock by glaciers and streams over thousands of years, Antigorio Valley has Latin and Romance origins (unlike Formazza Valley, whose origins lie with the Walser and Alemanni people).
Ascending the west side from Crodo, after passing Mozzio, you reach Foppiano and continue to climb towards the end of the road. You will arrive at a point where you can admire the sight of large, white pastures surrounded by a crown of snowy rocky peaks.
The following routes were created by Marina Morandin and taken from the guide “Ciaspole nelle Valli dell’Ossola” (Snowshoeing in the Ossola valleys) by Marina Morandin and Marco De Ambrosis, published by Danilo Zanetti Editore.
