Held in Formazza Valley since 2010, the Pomatt Telemark Gathering is a not-to-miss opportunity for those who want to find out more about the ancient free heel skiing technique. Telemark is a particular style of skiing that originated in the Telemark county of Norway, whereby the skier’s heel is free and unattached from the ski, and only one pole is used.
Organised by the Telemark ski instructors of the Valle Formazza, during days of the event, equipment can be hired for downhill skiing along the Valdo slopes, or to take part in fun races. This activity-packed convention would not be complete without a taste of the delicious food served in the valley’s many establishments.
