Presepi sull’Acqua in Crodo brings visitors to a fairly magical, uplifting atmosphere. Every year, more than 50 nativity scenes make up a captivating open-air display, whose recurrent feature is water. The nativity scenes are built on ancient stone fountains, washing basins and brooks, which are transformed into natural backdrops for the nativity scenes; a tribute to water, an element for which Crodo is renowned to this day throughout Italy.
Presepi sull’Acqua takes place around the mountain villages of Valle Antigorio and is made possible by the passion and dedication of residents of Crodo and of its surrounding villages, who set up the Christmas scenery with immense creativity.
The nativity scenes can be visited around the clock and are lit up after sunset, making the experience even more magical. The event is a unique way to re-discover Crodo, a town in the Alta Ossola, where landscapes and characteristic mountain architecture still blend harmoniously together.
Presepi sull’Acqua is also an opportunity to discover the delicious food and wine specialities produced locally, with themed menus offered by restaurants in the area.
