Best-known for the Alpe Veglia Natural Park (time stops here in winter when numerous avalanches block off access to the area), the Divedro Valley offers various routes for snowshoers and ski mountaineers, such as Alpe Solcio and Alpe Fraccia.
It can be reached by taking the A26 Genova-Gravellona Toce motorway, following signs for the national border. After Domodossola, continue on the 33 trunk road signposted for Simplon until the junction for Varzo.
The following routes were created by Marina Morandin and taken from the guide “Ciaspole nelle Valli dell’Ossola” (Snowshoeing in the Ossola valleys) by Marina Morandin and Marco De Ambrosis, published by Danilo Zanetti Editore.
