The route follows the mule tracks that link together the sun-exposed villages forming part of the Municipality of Masera. The noble houses and rural nuclei are harmoniously integrated into the still cultivated environment.
Description
This route uses the scenic Vigezzina-Centovalli Railway. From the train station in Masera you can reach the church square, where paths A6, A8, A10 and M0 start. Follow signs up to a chapel and, leaving path A10 on the right, turn left onto the mule track marked A6-A8 that leads to the hamlet of Ranco. From here, go down a short stretch of the paved road until you reach the mule track that goes down to the Case Brencio area, before reaching the “Villas” from where, on a dirt road, you continue towards the Oratory of Madonna delle Grazie. Still on a dirt road, return to the area planted with vineyards and, at a crossroads, you’ll get to the village of Rogna. From here, through the village, you reach the hamlet of Cresta, where you can eat at the typical “Divin Porcello” trattoria. From the hamlet of Cresta you can reach Rivoira, with its recently renovated oven and ancient press. Having passed the charming little square, after a few minutes you take a mule track that runs along some elegant villas. Cross the paved road and leave a chapel behind, skirt Villa Caselli and, staying on the mule track, return to the Church in Masera.
