The Varzo Archaeology Museum, a small and modern multimedia structure located in Villa Gentinetta, headquarters of the Ente Aree Protette dell’Ossola (Ossola Protected Areas Agency) in Divedro Valley, hosts an exhibition of finds from civilisations that arrived via the passes in this part of Ossola Valley. A crossroads of men, goods and cultures.
An important heritage of this collection is the remains found on the Alpe Veglia plain and belonging to mountaineers of times gone by.
The Varzo Archaeology Museum has been set up as part of a cross-border cooperation programme and is characterised by a fitting with a strong multimedia focus.
Appreciated by the many schools that choose it for its educational value, the museum in Varzo investigates the Stone and Metal Ages with exhibitions accompanied by illustrations and explanatory panels in four languages.
Also on offer at the Protected Areas Agency’s cultural structure, there’s a small interactive room and a library that houses a large collection of books and publications dedicated to cultural, historical and environmental issues.
