The Parish Church of San Bartolomeo in Villette, in Vigezzo Valley, was built in monumental forms during the Romanesque period. From 1600 onwards the building of worship was completely rebuilt, except for the bell tower, which is still visible today in its original version.
The church, built on a large terrace at the south-western end of Villette, has its main entrance along the south wall, while there’s a portico on the façade. The interior of the building, frescoed by Bernardino Peretti and Antonio Maria Cotti, exponents of the famous school of Vigezzo painting, has a simple structure with a single nave, two chapels on each side and an ancient stone baptismal font in the niche of the baptistery.
