The Church of Our Lady of the Nativity and Saint Anne in Bracchio, a hamlet of Mergozzo, is in pure Romanesque style and is a site of considerable interest. It was built in the first half of the 11th century and has the characteristics of the oldest mountain Romanesque style with a single nave ending in a semicircular apse, with its original coping and little arches resting on corbels in the shape of anthropomorphic heads.
The little church in Bracchio was enlarged in 1550 with the addition of the anterior part and rebuilding of the façade; in 1600 the current masonry vault was built, while the prothyrum was added in the following century.
The interior of the church was originally as it appears today, with a single nave and apse, very simple and unadorned.
