Druogno is the main town in the Vigezzo Valley encountered when you reach the Valle dei Pittori (Valley of Painters) from Domodossola. This large stretch of territory also comprises various truly picturesque rural hamlets, some of the most beautiful and best preserved in the Ossola area, where you can admire ancient mills, small oratories and valuable paintings.
Albogno, Coimo, Gagnone, Orcesco, Sagrogno and Sasseglio are the splendid, little hamlets of Druogno: simply walking through natural scenery along the old mule tracks and footpaths that connect them to one another will be an extremely pleasant experience in any season of the year.
At the entrance to the village of Druogno, there is a monument dedicated to country life: the bronze statue portrays a woman from the area, with a pannier on her shoulders, accompanied by a kid, celebrating the rural past of these alpine parts; now, thanks above all to the enthusiasm of the young animal breeders and farmers, quality farm produce is once again grown here.
The east wing of the Colonia Montana di Druogno houses the UniversiCà Museum, which preserves the memory of the traditional trades of the Vigezzo Valley. Nearby there is also the Road Safety Education Park, an authentic summer school for… future drivers.
A pleasant destination for summer holidays, during the winter season Druogno is an ideal destination for families with young children, thanks to the ski resort “La Baitina”, the most important Kinder Park in the Ossola Valley.
