The Vannino cliff was born in the ‘90s thanks to some foreign climbers who fell in love with this wonderful place. The cliff is great in summer, although the sun can be quite hot at 2000 metres. The climb is very tricky, on slabs and compact walls with quartz, mushrooms and plenty of smearing. The cliff is in need of some maintenance, but you can still climb safely.
There are three sectors: Rocciodromo, Castello, Sasso Scuola and then one multi-pitch: the Butterfly Wall.
This place is great for families. Grades from 5 to 8a.
How to get there: follow signs for Formazza Valley. You can take the Sagersboden chairlift from the hamlet of Valdo or you can walk up from the hamlet of Canza.
