The Macugnaga San Bernardo Fair in Anzasca Valley is deeply rooted in the ancient Feast of the Assumption, and is renowned as one of the most characteristic and important historical events throughout Piedmont. The fair is organised every year by the Walser Community Council and aims to promote the traditions and culture of this ancient populations of German origins. Exhibitions, events, the unmissable live wooden sculpturing event and much more make up the programme every year, which draws visitors from all over Italy. The core event is the characteristic Fair itself, which is set in the old Dorf, or village, and is free entry. Take home or simply admire the wooden and stone sculptures, ceramics, textiles and typical embroidery work from Macugnaga and the Anzasca Valley.
