Calici Sotto le Stelle takes place every year in Trontano on occasion of Saint Lawrence’s Feast Day, on 10 August, also known as the night of the falling stars. The event brings together astronomy amateurs, wine lovers and incurable romantics for an evening of enthralling magic.
Calici Sotto le Stelle takes visitors on a local food and wine trail along the roads that surround the town, where exquisite samples of local toma cheeses, local cured meats, and credenzin, a typical Trontano delicacy consisting in sweet rye bread and fruit, can be tasted. Later on in the evening, all eyes will be gazing up to the crystal-clear and pollution-free sky of this mountain town: visitors can observe the main summer constellations, star gaze through telescopes and learn more from experts of the Associazione Provinciale Astrofili Novaresi (Novara Regional Amateur Astronomer Association), in collaboration with the Domodossola Cinefoto group.
A lovely summer evening of looking up at the sky and a guided tour around all the different stars; a chance to try all the local delicacies and make as many wishes as you can!
